While we here at The Painted Asylum want to promote a free thinking and friendly place for everyone we must set up a set of rules and guidelines, please know that these rules have been put down for a reason and if you have any question's, comments or concerns you may always contact a Asylum staff member....
If your caught breaking one of these rules you will be warned...a blatant disregard for these rules will end with you being banned from the forum and room's The Asylum is associated with.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
• Respect every patient & inmate here at The Asylum[/u]
when we say everyone we mean just that, from the newbies all the way up to staff member's
there's no need for anyone to show any kind of disrespect here....simply put...
if you cant say anything nice, then don't say anything at all!
• Get Involved[/u]
We appreciate every patient & inmate here at The Asylum but please remember we can only continue doing what we are doing because of our patients & inmates and if you don't get involved with the various elements we offer we cant possibly continue! We would rather have 30 patients and inmates who all post on a reg. basis and get involved with whats going on then a vast number where only a slim few do anything!
• No Bashing other Sites![/u]
The Painted Asylum work's with other Av Design Forums and Chat Rooms to bring you the very best and we respect every one our partner's so we ask our member's to do the same! If you don't like a certain site we are working with please keep your opinion's to yourself!
• Give Credit where Credit is Due![/u]
There are many nifty and dandy resources out there on the world wide web and while they are available for use the designer's and creator's of those resources should get the respect and credit that is due to them....so please remember to credit original sources!
• Please respect other people's work![/u]
We understand that each of us are guilty of copyright smudging...im sure each of us has quietly and quickly removed a watermark on that oh so perfect photo before and while this is an unspoken ugly truth of av design we do ask our member's to try to respect all copyright's!
And while we shouldn't have to say this....I will just put it on the record
NO stealing other people's work and calling it your own!
if your caught doing this you will be removed from the forum and our partner's will be warned about you!
• NO Copyright Stealing[/u]
Now some artists are P.T.U. What this means is you must pay to use their work in any shape and or form. These are often artists who create pin up styled cartoon's and images often found on sites like PSP Tubes and The CDO Store. You MUST have a license to use these images in your creations and one of the terms of use is NO SHARING these items with friends.
What this means for you as a patient requesting a av is if the designer your requesting from does not have the license to use that image then they cant offer nor accept the request to make the av. However if the designer does have the needed license to use that image they can make the av for you as long as their watermark is on the finished avatar(s).
If any patient is caught violating these artists term's of use you will be auto banned from the site and other forums will be warned about you.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
These rules are just to get us off on the right foot so to speak.
Our guidelines and rules are subject to change at any time with out notice.
